Norton Sports Health Cold Weather Training Tips
🙌Tips for cold weather running:
- Warm up stretches BEFORE you leave the house and pump your car heat to stay warm en route.
- Layers! No cotton! Fleece & polyester are best.
- Plan for wind. Consider a windbreaker for the outer layer.
- Protect your head and hands!
- Double cover the ears, fingers and toes: 2 socks, 2 gloves, hat, neck gaiter, etc.
- Protect your skin! Vaseline and Aquaphor are great! Did you know athlete’s foot spray will keep your feet from sweating… therefore not getting cold?!
- Cover your water or it will freeze! A koozie works for handhelds. Or put your hydration vest (and straw/valve!) under a layer of clothing.
